A razor blade cartridge (10) has a movable guide unit (48) including a spacer (20) and a plurality of fingers (22) shaped and sized so that when the guide unit moves frontward between a leading blade (16) and a following blade (18) spaced rearward from the leading blade, the fingers (22) engaging the skin flowing into space between the leading and following blades to decrease contact between the skin and the cutting edge (30) of the following blade (18).
