Aluminum-free borosilicate glass comprises (in wt.%) 65-77 silica, 7-20 boric oxide, 0-2 lithia, 0-4 sodium oxide, 3-12 potassium oxide, 0-2 magnesium oxide, 0-2 calcium oxide, 0-3 magnesium oxide + calcium oxide, 0-3 barium oxide, 0-2 zinc oxide, 0.8-12 zirconia, 0-5 titania, 0-1 ceria, and 0-0.6 fluoride.
