The steering transmission (1) has a separable pivot (2). This pivot has an extension (9) with projections, for assembling through an aperture (8) in the foot well (7) of the vehicle. This extension can be inserted in the direction of the foot well in a receiver (12) outside the foot well so that it is fixed against rotation.
