<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately manage setting of the operation guarantee period of a secondhand product and the time to replace consumables used with the secondhand product. <P>SOLUTION: A consumable management system is so formed that information indicating the amount that consumables are used with an image processor 152 is accumulated in a centralized management database system 100 from the image processor 152 through a communication line 156. When the use of the image processor 152 is complete and it is to be recycled and sold as a secondhand product, the degree to which the consumbales were used is calculated on the basis of the accumulated information indicating the amount that the consumables were used.
