<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing mis-detection and damage of a detection means. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet containing means 1, which is detachably secured to a container section provided in a device body in the same direction as a sheet conveying direction, is provided with a detected member 4, which projects in a direction orthogonal to the sheet conveying direction according to the size of a sheet S, which is contained in the sheet containing means 1. A detecting means 5 is provided in the container section so as to be able to refuge for detecting the size of the sheet S contained in the sheet containing means 1 by being pressed against the projected detected member 4.
