PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which allows both digital signals and analog signals to be recorded for a business-use VTR or the like, and which allows electromagnetic characteristics to be enhanced. SOLUTION: In this magnetic recording medium, a first magnetic layer and a second magnetic layer, consisting of magnetic powder are applied and formed on a non-magnetic support, in this order. The saturation magnetizationσs(A) and coercive force Hc(A) of the magnetic powder (A) used for the first magnetic layer are 80-150 Am<SP>2</SP>/kg and 90-180 kA/m, respectively. Theσs(B) and Hc(B) of the magnetic powder (B) used for the second magnetic layer are 100-200 Am<SP>2</SP>/kg and 100-200 kA/m, respectively, andσs(A)/σs(B) is 1.0 or smaller and Hc(A)/Hc(B) is 1.0 or smaller. Moreover, the thickness T(A) of the first magnetic layer and the thickness T(B)of the second magnetic layer are 1.0μm≤T(A)≤4.0μm and 0.01μm≤T(B)≤0.5μm, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
