PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate easily correctable addition of various pieces of additional information, in management of read images in file units with various pieces of additional information added thereto. SOLUTION: An image management device for managing images related to documents read by an image reader has a recording function of recording index information for managing images for each document, a first specification function of specifying additional information for an image before the image reader reads in the image, a second specification function of specifying index information to be related with the additional information specified by the first specification means, a recording control function of using the recording function to record the additional information specified by the first specification function as information related to the index information specified by the second specification function, and a document list management function of managing a document list registering the information specified by the first and second specification functions in connection with the image.
