PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of an image and to extend a life of a nozzle by using a gradation pattern in a general organic dither method and preventing a specific nozzle of a recording head from being used in a concentrated manner. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder comprises a main scanning means for moving the recording head relative to a recording medium in a direction different from the arrangement direction of the nozzles, and a conveying means for conveying the recording medium in the arrangement direction of the nozzles by a predetermined amount K (K = a×L; "a" is a natural number, "L" is a size of the gradation pattern in the arrangement direction of the nozzles, or K = L/b; "b" is a natural number) in a time period between the previous main scanning and the next main scanning of the recording head by the main scanning means. The recorder further comprises a first changing means for shifting the relationship between image data and the plurality of nozzles in the arrangement direction of the nozzles, and a second changing means that changes a dot pattern to be used such that the plurality of different dot patterns having the identical gradation value are selectively used.
