Hand operated clamp has two operating levers (1, 2)each working with a pair of grip elements (3, 4, 5, 6) threaded on a tensile shaft (13) which supports one movable grip jaw (12). The grip elements comprise tilt mounted plates separated by an elastic spacer (7, 8), and with the plates hinged on fixed supports (9). Springs (10, 11) attached to the shaft return the grip element to the rest position when the levers are pressed again.
