A repair patch (12) made of a rare metal like tantalum and provided with a sealing element (26) underneath is positioned on top of a faulty spot (14) on the enameled surface (16) of an item (18) subject to aggressive chemical influences. For joining the patch (12) to the object (18) a bolt (22) is guided through the panel (18) and the repair patch (12), secured with an acorn nut (20), screwed to its upper end. An additional sealing element (32) is accommodated in the space (30) under the nut (20) formed by a vertical border (34).
