The method involves separating single sheets (31) from a paper path (8) in response to a sheet requesting control instruction and feeding it to the printer's (2) sheet infeed device (3). Single sheets are separated from the paper path while it is moving at the same speed (v1) as the infeed device and are fed to the infeed device at the same speed (v2). AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) a device for supplying a printer with single sheets.
