A procedure and an arrangement for sawing timber 11 in a circular saw mill 10. The feeding of the timber 11 through the circular saw mill 10 is effected by feed devices 12, 13 situated beneath the saw surface, which devices form the timber-feed plane X, and feed devices 14, 15 placed above the timber. The timber 11 is sawn by one or more parallel circular saw cutters 20 which are movable sideways on a shaft 21 from its centre. Each cutter 20 is supported at its periphery by cutter-control means 30 located above the surface to be sawn. The solution is characterized in that the distance Y between the cutter-control means 30 and the timber-feed plane X can be adjusted. <IMAGE> |
