Black composite iron oxide pigment, and paint and resin composition using the same

A black composite iron oxide pigment comprises composite iron oxide particles having an average particle size of 0.08 to 1.0 mu m and comprising: (a) iron oxide core particles, (b) a coating provided on the surface of the iron oxide core particles, comprising at least one organosilicon compound selected from : (1) organosilane compounds obtainable from alkoxysilane compounds, and (2) polysiloxanes or modified polysiloxanes, and (c) an organic blue-based pigment coat which is provided on said coating (b) in an amount of from 1 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of said iron oxide core particles.
