[Also in Division F2] In an index mechanism of the kind described in Specification 1,023,058, detent notches 37 in a driven member 15 are unequally spaced and return of the mechanism to the starting position before cutting each workpiece is effected by a piston 43, reciprocable in a cylinder bore 44, having teeth 45 meshing with pinion teeth 46 on the driven member 15. A slot 19 is opensided in order that the driving member 22 does not effect further counterclockwise advance of the driven member 15 just prior to the return motion. A solenoid-operated reversing valve in the hydraulic control system controls the supply of fluid to the lower end of cylinder bore 44. |
