The arrangement connects first and second devices and has mutually independent first and second sub-networks consisting of first and second switching elements, at least one cross-connection between sub-networks and interface connections. The arrangement connects first (Host) and second (G0) devices and has mutually independent first and second sub-networks consisting of first (S00-S02) and second (S10-S12) switching elements, at least one cross-connection between the sub-networks, at least one first connection between the first sub-network and a first interface (IF0) of the first device and at least one second connection between the second sub-network and a second interface (IF1) of the first device and at least one third connection between the first sub-network and the second device. The connections between the first switching elements and/or the connections between the second switching elements and/or the cross-connections are implemented as wide area network (WAN) connections.
