<p>The cylindrical block connector has two axial holes to receive the stripped ends of conductors. Within each hole there is a threaded lateral hole (4,5), receiving a locking screw. An insulating sleeve fits over the cable and connector. The connector comprises a cylindrical block pierced by two longitudinal cylindrical orifices (2,3), serving as contacts intended to receive the ends of conductors after these conductor ends have been stripped of insulation. Within each cylindrical orifice there is a threaded hole (4,5), perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, intended to receive a locking screw. At each end of the cylindrical block there is a peripheral skirt (6,7) defining a recess which is of the same diameter as the un-stripped cable. This covers the cable insulation for a length of between 10 and 20 mm. A further insulating sleeve then fits over a section of the cable outside the connector, and around the body of the connector itself.</p> |
