摘要 PURPOSE: A system for predicting and preventing burn out of electric furnace water cooling cable using infrared thermometer is provided to predict burn out of the cable and prevent additional burn out thereof by early detecting temperature of the cable, thereby checking the covering state of the cable for supplying power to low voltage high current electric furnace. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a covering temperature monitoring part(200) rotationally operated around flexible water cooling cable to remotely scan detect the temperature state of covering of the water cooling cable; a covering monitoring control part(300) for detecting difference of temperature change through the covering temperature monitoring part and controlling rotational operation of the covering temperature monitoring part; and an order instruction part(400) for predicting burn out of covering by output of the covering monitoring control part, performing a series of controlling for emergency ascent of upper electrode rod, zeroing of high current of upper and lower power supply booths, stopping of melting operation, cooling of the covering of the water cooling cable and optimization of the insulating state of the covering, recoding the temperature state of an outer layer of the water cooling cable, and outputting an alarm message for preventing burn out of the water cooling cable, wherein the covering temperature monitoring part(200) comprises an infrared thermometer(201) and a driving motor(207), wherein the covering monitoring control part(300) comprises infrared ray detector(301) and emissivity corrector(302), signal inputter(303) and signal converter(304), rotation controller(305), and injection controller(306), and wherein the order instruction part(400) comprises a deviation detector(401), a device for comparison and judgement(402), a breaker controller(405), recorder(404) and recorder outputter(403), and an electrode controller(406), and an operator(407).
