PURPOSE: A roll chock resting device is provided which is capable of skipping a process of preparing a gap support suitable to diameter of roll as a preparatory operation for roll replacement by removing time delay according to installation and dismantling of the gap support used during disassembling and assembling of the roll. CONSTITUTION: The roll chock resting device comprises a resting stand(3) installed on a lower roll chock so that an upper roll chock is rested on the resting stand; a balance rod(5) which is connected to the resting stand so that the balance rod is ascended and descended along with the upper roll chock during ascending and descending of the upper roll chock, a lower part of which is installed at a hydraulic operation part of the lower roll chock, and on an upper part of which a plurality of position indication lines(5b) are formed; and a moving body(8) which elastically supports the balance rod during non-rolling and installed at the hydraulic operation part so that the moving body is moved along with the balance rod by hydraulic pressure supplied to the hydraulic operation part during rolling, wherein the moving body(8) comprises moving pipe, supporting rod and cap, the moving pipe comprises a plurality of gear parts, opening and channels(21), and the supporting rod comprises spring receiving hole and gear parts, and wherein a rail groove is formed on an outer side of the moving body, and the rail groove is slidingly connected to a rail formed on an inner wall of the hydraulic operation part.
