PURPOSE: A device for connecting vehicles on rails is provided to automatically connect an electric car, quenching car and bucket that are rail cars for performing quenching operation by transporting the extruded coke after extruding coke that is a subsidiary raw material of an iron mill from coke oven. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a rectangular base member(2) which is installed at a bracket(1a) installed at electric car and quenching car, and on one side part of which a through hole(2b) is formed; a rotation shaft(3) comprising a connection part(4) which is rotationally installed inside the base member, and on which an approach member connected to approach head(7) of connection bar(5) is formed, a pair of guide bars(14) extended outward, and a connection hole(15) formed at a position corresponding to the through hole when the connection hole is contracted to the base member; a circular arc shaped cross sectional guide(13) comprising a plurality of guide grooves(13a) in which the guide bars are received, wherein the guide is installed adjacently to the rotation shaft; a compression spring(11) elastically supported to the base member to press the rotation shaft outward; and a rotation shaft locking means(6) for locking the rotation shaft at a connecting position of the connection part and the connection bar, wherein the device further comprises a friction preventing member(20) installed at the connection part of the rotation shaft to prevent friction generated by the contact with the connection bar.
