PURPOSE: A method for recovering the battery data on a portable device is provided to automatically recover the damaged battery data with the backup battery data by storing the initially set battery data as a form of a backup file. CONSTITUTION: The standard information, which is stored in a battery in order to manage the battery, is stored as the backup file(S11). The battery information periodically measured from the battery is compared with the standard information of the backup file(S13). If the measured battery information is damaged, the standard information set to the battery is updated by the standard information of the backup file(S15).
