PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell capable of maintaining a prescribed spacing between electrodes. SOLUTION: In this ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell, at least either of the anodes or the cathodes are energized in contact with a plurality of pairs of comb-like flat springs extending askant from flat spring supports disposed on electrode partition walls in the electrolytic cell, the comb-like flat spring of each pair being so constituted as to be mutually inserted between the adjacent springs to the opposite direction to each other.
