PURPOSE: A method for changing incoming bell/vibration modes according to noise levels and a portable phone implementing the same are provided to include a sound pressure processor, so as to change a mode to a bell or vibration mode appropriately if a user moves to a place with high-level noise. CONSTITUTION: While maintaining a current incoming bell level(S400), a portable phone checks whether an incoming call or a command of execution is received(S410). If so, a sound pressure processor senses surrounding noise(S420), to transmit a calculated value of an average noise level to a controller(S430). The controller decides whether the value corresponds to noise with over a predetermined level(S440). If so, the controller raises a sound volume of a bell suitably for the value, to change the incoming bell level(S450). And changed setting information is stored in a memory(S460), to output a bell sound according to the set information if an incoming call is received.
