PURPOSE: A method for automatically converting a mode to an automatic response mode in a mobile communication terminal is provided to perform mode conversion to the automatic response mode at a conference or a lecture, so as to reduce noise by a bell sound. CONSTITUTION: Whether an automatic conversion setting time is started is decided at a standby state(S210). If so, a mode is converted to an automatic conversion mode(S212). Whether a ring signal is received is decided(S214). If so, whether the automatic conversion mode is a cutoff mode, a vibration mode, or a manual vibration mode is decided(S216). If the cutoff mode, a message is automatically transmitted(S218) and the step S214 is returned to decide whether a ring signal is detected. If the vibration mode, a message is automatically transmitted and a cellular phone is vibrated(S220), then the step S214 is returned to decide whether a ring signal is detected. If the manual vibration mode, the cellular phone is vibrated(S222), and if a user selects a call, a reception mode is provided(S226). If the reception is ended(S228), the step S214 is returned to decide whether a ring signal is detected. If a ring signal is not received in the step S214, whether the automatic conversion setting time is ended is decided(S230). If so, the automatic conversion setting is ended(S232).
