The diagnosis of pathological processes in mammals comprises immunochemical determination of the major acute-phase protein (MAP) of non-human mammals. Its plasmatic concentration increases up to thirty-fold on injection of turpentine oil in the case of the pig, as a result of inflammation. EMBODIMENT - The MAP increase impairs animal meat and milk quality.
