A process for adhering a pocket (2) to the outside of a container (3), especially a bag, comprises removing a carrier band (4) from a pocket band, so adhesive remains on the latter. At least one pocket is then cut from the pocket band and adhered to the container. The space between the pocket and carrier bands has adhesive (20) and non-adhesive (15) zones. The cut takes place over the non-adhesive zone. The carrier band consists of e.g. plastic, rubber e.t.c.
