The battery of accumulators is contained in a tank (4) made from a thermoplastic material and has a lid (1) with a rim (2). When the lid is in place the lid rim fits into a groove (3) integrated into the tank top and is secured by a sliding insert (5). The battery lid may be taken off only when bolts gripping the main terminal tops and the terminal tops themselves have been removed. Inter cell connections are by simple nut and bolt
