FIELD: representing object appearing in video. SUBSTANCE: proposed method and device used for object search in video image stored in multimedia database and its representation include processing signals corresponding to image wherein plurality of coordinate values are obtained from mentioned signals for object contour peaks in scaled curvature space and scaling or nonlinear transformation is used for coordinate values to obtain contour representation. In the course of search request is entered in the form of two- dimensional contour, representation of this contour and then that of object in stored images is obtained using method for representing object appearing in video, this representation in the form of request is compared with each representation for stored object, and at least one result corresponding to image of object where comparison points to degree of similitude between object in the form of request and real object is retrieved and displayed.
