An ultrasonic device (100) for sealing at least two superimposed sheets (1, 2), the device comprising a sealing assembly consisting of two elements which are respectively and anvil (102) and a sonotrode (101), arranged opposite each other so that their facing surfaces form an interstice (103) for passing through the sheets to be sealed, the interstice having an input section and an output section, the sonotrode vibrating at high frequencies to emit ultrasonic waves. Means are provided for generating between the superimposed sheets and the sealing assembly a relative movement along a specific feeding direction (F) relative to the sealing assembly, and the section of the passage interstice decreases between its input section and its output section, and at least one element of the sealing assembly comprises a projecting ridge emerging into the passage interstice and extending along a direction globally parallel to the feeding direction (F). Also described is a method for sealing flexible packages, and the resulting packages. |
