FIELD: organophosphorus compounds, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing copper (II) bis-(1-hydroxyethane-1,1-biphosphonate (1-)). Copper (II) bis-(1-hydroxyethane-1,1-biphosphonate (1-)) is prepared from an aqueous solution containing copper (II) salt and 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-biphosphonic acid in concentrations 0.5-2.0 and 2.0-6.0 mole/l, respectively, but preferably in the mole ratio = 1:(2-3). Substance prepared by this method can be used for control of sulfate- -reducing microorganisms in systems of reusable water supply, for protection against corrosion of equipment in oil production industry, for preparing electrolytes used in galvanic and chemical copper plating, as fungicide and copper microfertilizer in agriculture, for preparing other copper complexes. Invention provides reducing consumption of reagents used for preparing copper (II) bis-(1- hydroxyethane-1,1-biphosphonate (1-)), retention of its purity and phase homogeneity, the improved technological effectiveness of process, reduced cost of product and reduced amount of waste to be neutralized.
