A process for separating impurities from a suspension by floatation, comprising the steps of aerating a liquid with gas until it is saturated, expanding the liquid saturated with gas, during which gas bubbles form, whereby the liquid saturated with gas expands separately and before the liquid containing the gas bubbles is added to the suspension with the impurities and adding the liquid containing the gas bubbles to the suspension with the impurities. Also described is an apparatus for separating impurities and a device for generating gas bubbles.
