A process for the preparation of compounds of the formula I, which comprises converting the compound of the formula II by catalytic hydrogenation and conversion of the cyano group into the amidino group into the compound of the formula III or its salt with the acid HX, followed by reaction with a compound of the formula IV or its salt with the acid HX to give a compound of the formula I, where the anions X are physiologically acceptable anions.
