FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed drum unit that can be used at factories producing fuel elements for reactor fuel assemblies to classify wastes upon manufacturing fuel element claddings provides for separating cladding scrap from zirconium alloy shavings. Device has revolving drum formed by rods secured at ends over generating line with slit-like holes in-between, their width exceeding diameter of cladding scrap; charging and discharging unit is, essentially, hinged cover sector of rods attached to revolving drum body whose outside surface carries coaxially arranged second drum built of two parts of which upper one is removable part and serves as cover for charging and discharging unit; lower part is hinged on shaft and functions as tray for receiving cladding scrap and discharging it; it is provided with detergent inlet and outlet pipes.
