The system has a focus control device controlling a focus of a picture-taking lens so that two focus evaluation values generated by a focus value generation part (70) with respect to two image pick up parts (14) become equal. The control device seeks a function value converging to zero as the two values approach to each other and moves the focus to a new moving target position which is added with focus travel distance. The focus control device moves the focus of the picture taking lens to a focusing position by controlling the focus.
