PURPOSE: A pulley mounting device of an engine and a control method thereof are provided to combine the pulley with a crankshaft safely and accurately by an assembling bolt with keeping constant torque through an assembling socket rotating by driving force from a driving motor. CONSTITUTION: A pulley mounting device comprises an installation frame(1); a driving motor(3) fixed in the upper part of the installation frame; a power train shaft(5) arranged horizontally in the installation frame, installed by a rotation support unit in the lower part of the driving motor, and connected to the driving motor by a power connection unit to transmit torque for assembling a pulley; an assembling unit(23) longitudinally connected to the end of the power train shaft to rotate an assembling bolt for assembling the pulley; a braking unit(29) mounted in the installation frame to transmit braking force to the power train shaft; an rpm detecting unit(41) formed in the power train shaft to detect rpm of the power train shaft; and a controller(50) calculating rpm by receiving signals from the rpm detecting unit and controlling the driving motor and the braking unit.
