PURPOSE: Provided is an electric field generating apparatus for removing bacteria by electric field reaction in treated water without using chemicals, thereby nature friendly sterilizing water and increasing sterilizing efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a housing(110) made of an insulating material, an electric field reaction tube(120) with a raw water inlet and a treated water outlet, the electric field reaction tube(120) being installed in the housing(110) and made of an insulating material, an ionized oxygen injection unit(130) for injecting ionized oxygen into the electric field reaction tube(120), an AC/DC rectifier(140) for converting alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) to be applied to an upper portion of the electric field reaction tube(120), and an electrode bar(150) provided in the electric field reaction tube and applied an electric power from the AC/DC rectifier to generate electric field in the electric field reaction tube(120).
