PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector accurately detecting an incomplete insertion state of terminal fittings. SOLUTION: A lance 20 protruding and extending forward from an inner wall and locking the terminal fittings in a cavity 12 to which the terminal fittings 30 are insertable is installed in a housing 11. A retainer 40 is mounted from the front on the connector housing 11. A releasing recessed part 24 hooking a releasing tool 50 is installed on a tip surface of the lance 20, and a working face 23 coming in contact with a tip surface 42 of an incomplete insertion detecting projecting part 41 in a state that the terminal fittings 30 are incompletely inserted and the lance 20 is bent is installed in the edge part of the lance 20. In an incomplete insertion state of the terminal fittings 30, the working face 23 comes in contact with the tip surface 42 of the incomplete insertion detecting projecting part 41, and by being stopped further insertion of the retainer 40, the incomplete insertion state of the terminal fittings 30 can be detected.
