PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal device capable of inspecting/restoring functions by a program received from a host computer and capable of inspecting or restoring functions of the communication terminal device itself by surely storing the program without enlarging a storage capacity. SOLUTION: When a communication device 19 receives the inspection/restoration program from the host computer 2 through a communication network 3, a CPU 14 selects an EEPROM 12 which is most reliable as a storage of the program and writes the program in the EEPROM 12. However when there is no empty capacity for the data capacity of the program in the EEPROM 12, the CPU 14 moves a data file whose importance is lower than that of the program to a hard disk 13a and then writes the program in the EEPROM 12.
