摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering controller for a vehicle which smoothly shifts a transmission ratio variable mechanism from abnormal time to restoration time without making a driver have sense of incongruity. SOLUTION: This steering controller for the vehicle is provided with a transmission ratio variable means 30 for driving a drive motor 31 for changing a transmission ratio to change a transmission ratio among a steering angle of a steering wheel 10 and steering angles of steering wheels FW1, FW2. It is further provided with: a target angle calculation means 70 for setting a target angle of the drive motor 31 including a compensation angle for making motor output torque transmitted to the steering wheel 10 due to torque reaction force of the drive motor 31 when steering control returns to a normal condition from an abnormal condition equal to steering torque of the steering wheel 10 by the driver immediately before restoration; and a compensation angle elimination means 70 for eliminating a compensation angle included in the target angle calculated by the target angle calculation means 70 gradually.
