PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a charging device reduced in size and weight capable of suppressing the heat generation of the charging device with a charging time until reaching a voltage for the operation of an apparatus same as that of a conventional one, while preventing the deterioration of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: The charging device is configured such that, when a battery voltage Vb becomes not lower than a second set voltage Vs2, a second constant current reference signal S2 is outputted to a signal changeover circuit 23, and a voltage changeover circuit 24 is made to conduct a pulse charge operation, which outputs a third constant voltage V3 for a prescribed time t2 after outputting a first constant voltage V1 for a prescribed time t1, until the battery voltage Vb reaches a third set voltage Vs3, thereby setting the second set voltage Vs2 to a usable voltage of the apparatus to which a lithium ion battery 11 feeds power.
