PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronizing mechanism and a synchronizer ring for a gear transmission capable of suitably restraining friction between the synchronizer ring and a corn part at relative rotation without complicating a structure. SOLUTION: The synchronizing mechanism 1 is provided with the synchronizer ring 8 having a conical pressing surface 12, and the corn part 14 having a conical pressed surface 15 capable of abutting with the pressing surface 12. A plurality of oil grooves 10 extending to a rotary shaft direction are formed on the pressing surface 12, and a part of the oil grooves 10 is a lift generating groove 11 having a wedge shaped cross section.
