PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a crack of a cylinder head following the thermal expansion or the like of an exhaust valve without causing the degradation of castability of the cylinder head or the increase of dead volume. SOLUTION: An outer diameter 2b on at least the combustion chamber side of an exhaust valve seat 2 pressed in and fixed to the cylinder head made of cast iron is formed in a tapered face made smaller in diameter toward the combustion chamber side. Tensile stress generated to the cylinder head following the thermal expansion of the exhaust valve seat 2 is suppressed while securing the come-off load of the exhaust valve seat 2 in a large diameter part.
