PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for stably setting a ladder to a pole. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the device, a pair of right and left holding pieces 1 are locked to a base stand 13 in a manner rockable in a plane perpendicular to a base stand surface, and the holding pieces are energized by a spring so as to be openable from their center. Mutually opposed peripheral edges of the respective holding pieces are formed like concave spheres, and a pair of right and left ladder setting blocks 23 are locked to the base stand such that the longitudinal location thereof is adjustable. At the time of setting the device to the pole, when inner edges of the holding pieces are pressed to the pole, the holding pieces hold the pole by means of their mutually opposed peripheral edges against spring energization.
