PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To play a role of a grout stopper injected into jackets after arranging an upper work by avoiding interference between a jacket inside surface and a pile. SOLUTION: The upper work 3 is formed by fixing the upper end of a plurality of jackets 2 to a swash plate 1, and is set down on a sea bottom surface 5, and next, a steel pipe pile 4 is inserted into the respective jackets 2 from above, and is driven in the sea bottom. Before this driving, a rubber plate 13 is arranged in a ring shape at a required interval in the lengthwise direction on an outside surface of the pile 4, and is installed on an installing flange 14 fixed to the outside surface of the respective piles 4. When inserting the pile 4 having the ring-shaped plate 13 on the outside surface into the jackets 2, the ring-shaped plate 13 of respective stages is applied to an inside surface of the jackets 2, and even if the pile 4 inclines a little, the ring-shaped plate 13 is made to function as a cushioning material. After driving the pile 4, a ring-shaped plate 13a positioned in a lower end part of the jackets 2 is made to function as the grout stopper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
