PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a collagen production promoter which has excellent promotion effect on collagen production, is highly safe, has high stability and is applicable to the human body as an anti-wrinkle agent, or the like. SOLUTION: This collagen production promoter comprises acidic xylooligosaccharides containing a uronic acid residue in the each xylooligosaccharide molecule as an active ingredient. The xylooligosaccharides are a mixed composition of oligosaccharides having different polymerization degrees of xylose and have preferably 2.0-10.0 average polymerization degree.
