PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harness type safety belt with a compound rope for solving the problem that it is difficult for a user to check visually a rope of the harness type safety belt, which is often bound to the back, so that when falling occurs during using a rope with damage which is not known to the user, the rope is cut off even by a small shock load and cannot stop the user's falling. SOLUTION: In the harness type safety belt with the compound rope, the ropes which are conventionally a single rope are replaced with the compound rope. The compound rope consists of a rope having a larger diameter and the other having a smaller diameter, or consists of ropes having the same diameter. Further, material or twisting structure is varied to vary stretching or length. Thus, even if one of the ropes is damaged, the dropping shock load can reliably be received by the other rope.
