PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the reduction of transmission efficiency from a gear member to a slider member even on installing a penetrating cam-engaging groove at the slider member in an oscillating mechanism as a deceleration gear type. SOLUTION: This oscillating mechanism of the spinning reel, reciprocating a spool in shaft direction coupled with the rotation of a handle is equipped with the gear member 15 and slider member 16. The gear member has a cam 21 and rotates around a shaft which is approximately parallel to a handle shaft, coupled with the rotation of the handle. The slider member has the cam-engaging groove 22 extending in the direction of a first shaft which crosses with a spool shaft 8 of which tip end is installed with the spool, engaging with the cam and penetrating in the direction of a second shaft crossing with the first shaft, is fixed at 2 positions nipping the cam-engaging groove at the rear end side of the spool shaft and is mounted on the reel main body 2 as freely movable in the spool shaft direction.
