PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus and a recording method for a broadcast program for executing a recording reservation simply and quickly. SOLUTION: During viewing of a program, by supplying a control signal for executing a recording by operating a recording key of a remote control hand unit 22 composing a user interface control part 21, a control part 20 creates a message for bringing a user into a selection of the recording of a viewing program and the recording reservation for a next program by a graphic creation/superimposition part 15 and displays the message on a screen by a video output part 17 so as to bring the user into the selection by the hand unit 22, so that the recording reservation for desired programs can be executed without displaying an EPG (electronic program guide).
