A method of olefin polymerization with a metallocene catalyst in which catalytic activity and polymerization efficiency are heightened and the metallocene catalyst is caused to sufficiently exhibit its performance to maintain a stable polymerization reaction. Thus, large-scale, efficient, industrial olefin polymerization with a metallocene catalyst is realized. In a commercial-scale production plant for olefin polymerization with a metallocene catalyst, the inclusion of halogenated compounds is regulated so that the gram atom amount of halogen atoms contained in the halogenated compounds derived from the solvent(s) and raw materials, excluding the halogen atoms derived from the catalyst components, is 0.8 or smaller based on the gram atom amount of the transition metal of the metallocene catalyst.
