A method for efficiently heating partial organic tissues of an organism to 45˚C or higher by using an alternating current magnetic field, and a heating apparatus using an alternating current magnetic field, which can be utilized in therapy such as hyperthermia are provided. A heating method wherein at least one kind of ferrite dispersed in an organic substance to be heated and/or a ferrite adhered to the surface of the organic substance or introduced into the organic substance is heated using an alternating current magnetic field of 100-750 kHz and an apparatus for carrying out such a method are disclosed. The ferrite necessarily contains at least 50 weight% or more of MgO Fe2O3.
