摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical components for WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) which have reliability unaffected by mechanical vibration, etc., and have reduced loss. SOLUTION: One optical fiber coupler 10 for demultiplexing 20 nm is arranged in a first stage and two optical fiber couplers 11 and 12 for demultiplexing 40 nm are arranged in a second stage. The wavelength is demultiplexed toλ1,λ2 andλ3, andλ4 by the optical fiber coupler 10 used in the first stage. Next, the wavelength is demultiplexed toλ1 andλ3, andλ2 andλ4, respectively by the two couplers 11 and 12 of the second stage. The optical fiber couplers connected in multiple stages are constituted by forming the optical fiber couplers for demultiplexing the wavelength spacing twice the wavelength spacing for multiplexing and demultiplexing of the first-stage coupler as the second stage and subsequently forming the wavelength spacing of the couplers connected in the multiple stage to twice that of the previous stage, by which the demultiplexing of a number of the wavelengths at the specific wavelength spacing is made possible.
